Last chance to see this month's traveling exhibit

Just a reminder that this is the final week for the traveling exhibit Kansans of African Descent: Selected Portraits at the SCCC/ATS library.

If you haven't had a chance to see the exhibit, come on down and take a look before it's gone.

African Americans have played important roles in the history of Kansas. Well-known people who have called Kansas home are featured in this exhibit of historic and contemporary photographs.

Individuals such as Benjamin “Pap” Singleton who was instrumental in bringing many African American immigrants to Kansas; Julie Lee who ran a grocery business in Nicodemus in 1877, and Lynette Woodard, first woman member of the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters are featured in this exhibit.

The exhibit is open to the public.
