Booze, Broads and Brothels -- Beer City Gals

On November 9th, the library is proud to present "the Beer City Gals," a reader’s theater group headed by Dr. V. Pauline Hodges of Beaver, OK.

This is the academic year’s first program of “Lunch in the Library,” a series of presentations in the library over the noon hour.

The Beer City Gals tell the story of a group of Liberal women who travel to the 19th century border-town of Beer City, OK to convince the madame of the local brothel, Pussy Cat Nell, to leave the area.

The "Lunch in the Library" series will include historical performers, musicians, athletes, authors and poets and run for approximately one hour.

Light refreshments will be provided, and anyone attending is welcomed to bring their lunch. The program will start at noon.
